Defense Update Bangladesh

Bangladesh and myanmar facing continues tension between them. Recently Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) installed CCTV camera & solar-powered lights on the Tombru-Konabari border in the Bandarban district.  Burmese border guard police urged Bangladesh to remove those instruments from the Bangladeshi part of the border. This arrogance of myanmar created anger among the diplomatic arena of Dhaka.

Myanmar Air Force ordered six Russian Su-30 fighter jets, announcement came during General Shoigu’s visit there. Along with these combat aircrafts, burmese military will also procure some more equipment from Moscow. $200 million has been allotted to buy six Su-30. As per the total price mentioned each of the Sukhoi will costs around $34 million.  But, there’s no information about the exact variant of the myanmar air force’s Su-30s. The latest variant that Bangladesh Air Force wanted to buy is the “Su-30SME” which will cost around $60 million. And, except indian air force’s Su-30MKI other variants are not in production. So, definitely Russia will export their grounded baseline Sukhoi-30 to myanmar.  Previously, Moscow exported grounded indian Su-30MKIs to the Angolan Air Force. Those were upgraded in Russia. Bangladesh Army tasked to build 14000 makeshift shelters for the Rohingya refugees. With the help of United Nations and other aid authorities from around the world Bangladesh Government arranging the whole work. Along with the army other armed forces and paramilitary will also participate to successfully finish the job in time.  Bangladesh Army has reputation to complete such construction projects in due time with higher quality. Previously Bangladesh Army carried out such construction works and completed the “Ashroyon Prokolpo” for the homeless peoples funded by the government and various donor organizations in the past.  8 square kilometer area has been selected near Bangladesh-burma border in Cox’s Bazaar and Teknaf to build the refugee shelters. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave an emotional speech at United Nations general Assembly about the plight of the Rohingya Peoples facing from burmese army. There in Arakan state of burma Rohingya people facing severe oppression from the burmese military. Large number of them are dead and rest are taking refuge to neighboring Bangladesh. They lost their homes and shelters.  Some of the burmese spies are also entered into Bangladesh along with those Rohingya refugees. But their fate become unlucky this time. Almost half-dozens of those burmese spies has been caught by the Border Guard Bangladesh counter intelligence wing and other security forces.  Four of them were arrested from the hilly Naikhongchori upazilla and Bandarban. They’re Anwar Hossain, Zafor Alam, Azmal Hossain and Kalu Miah. They’re all habitants of maungdaw’s Fakir Bazaar Amtoli in rakhine state.  One of them has been caught from Naikhongchori and three others are from Ghumdhum area.  Another two were caught from the Cox’s Bazaar area near Rohingya refugee camps. Burmese army torched almost 100 rohingya people villages in myanrmar. Recently anti-Rohingya operation created massive Rohingya refugee flow towards Bangladesh. Burma’s main weapons and military equipment supplier is China. India and Israel are positioned at, respectively, second & third. Peace loving world community urged to these countries not to sell weapons to burmese army. United States, Australia and European Union countries don’t sell military equipment to myanmar army.  Except china, india and Israel others like Russia, North Korea, Japan, Pakistan also sold weapons & military equipment to burmese military junta in the past few years.  China selling fighter jets, military transport aircrafts, warships, missiles, artillery guns, main battle tanks, small and medium weapons, electronic surveillance equipment etc. China also provides some military technologies to burmese army. Turkey sending huge aid to help Rohingya Muslim. Emergency food, medicines and other needed relief goods are coming from Turkey, Iran, Qatar, Malaysia and also from Indonesia. All Muslim countries trying to solve the Rohingya People crisis along with Bangladesh. The Rohingya peoples are the ethnicity of Bengali nation who speaks mainly a dialect of Chittagong region. They’re living in the Arakan state (now rakhine state) for hundreds of years. But burmese junta government started an ethnic cleansing mission against these innocent peoples.  Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan visited the Rohingya Peoples’ refugee camps and distributed aid goods. She assert Bangladesh government to arrange for lands to build shelters for these refugees.
