Crisis With Saudi Arabia: Qatar Signed $12.2bn Weapons Deal With American Boeing For 36 F-15 Strike Eagle Fighter Jets
Qatar signed a $12 billion defense deal with USA to buy 36 Boeing made F-15 Strike Eagle fighter jets for Qatar Emiri Air Force. Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries includes Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain cuts tie with Doha and accused the country for supporting extremists. In last November Boeing and Doha agreed on a deal for 72 F-15 fighter jets. Somehow that deal wasn’t materialized. US officials told the media that this defense tie with Qatar will enhance interoperability among these two nation for security and other issues. However, US military’s largest base is located near Doha, Qatar’s capital city. Qatar denied allegations and stand firm against GCC countries.
