Defense Update Bangladesh

Bangladesh Air Force publishes various audio-visuals to highlight the force’s activities. This video is the latest one, in which almost all of the aircrafts of the Bangladesh Air Force has been shown.

A workshop held in 27-28 March in Nepal, many says it was against Bangladesh. Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh confirmed about the workshop but he said no one was in contact with the Embassy in Kathmandu.

Headquarters of Myanmar air force is in Naipitow, the new capital city of burma. China & Russia is the main aviation supplier of Myanmar. Current Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Air Force is General Maung Maung Kyaw.  This is the third and last part of this documentary.

Italian & Thai joint venture ItalThai Group has been awarded the construction contract.  Initial phase of the project has been started. This BRT Line -3 phase consists building of the Elevated Expressway from Gazipur to the Airport Road in Uttara.

Bangladesh Air Force operating Pakistan made Air Defense Systems automation. This C4I Command & Control System has been developed and produced by the Air Weapons Complex (AWC), a subsidiary of the NESCOM, Pakistan.  This automated computer system has integration with all of the air defense assets of Bangladesh Air Force. Likewise all fighter aircrafts, interceptor aircrafts, surveillance & reconnaissance assets, radar stations & surface-to-air missiles systems are integrated within this system.  Until now it is been found that the whole system operates smoothly without any flaws. BAF is satisfied with this system and thanked for.

Chinese Tianhe Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing Company Ltd. built an ultra-large underwater tunnel boring machine for Bangladesh. This tunneling machine will be used to bore the Karnaphuli River Tunnel in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Currently it is being assembled in Jiansu, China which will be shipped to the country in next May.  Government of Bangladesh awarded the contract to build the tunnel road to the China Communication Construction Company Ltd. Within the next august main boring activities will start. And completion time for the tunnel has been settled as 2022.

It’s been reported that Bangladesh Navy very much interested in decommissioned Japanese & Australian P-3C Orion Maritime Patrol Aircrafts. Both party seeking international buyers for their P-3Cs platforms which are still capable to serve small and medium navies.  Lockheed P-3C Orion is one of the world’s most capable, long serving MPA platform. It has capabilities of anti-submarine (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASUW). Japan Maritime Sel-Defense Force (JMSDF) & Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) both are the oldest operator of P-3C.

Bangladesh Army’s the East Bengal Regiment Center or EBRC is a soldiers training center. This is the oldest regiment in BD Army.  Here soldiers gets advanced training for modern day land warfare, un-armed combat, character building etc.

Bangladesh Air Force has started Winter Exercise – 2018 or WINTEX-2018 involving all of the air bases and related assets. This exercise is an annual event. Bangladesh Army, Navy and some other paramilitary forces also taking part in the drill to synchronize interoperability.

Bangladesh Army formed a Riverine Brigade to enhance force’s operational capabilities in marshlands & rivers. Headquarter of this brigade has been established in Mithamain Upazilla of Kishoreganj district.  BD Army has bought 142 Tri-Shark high speed-boats and several other vessels. Among them two landing craft tank, landing craft utility are local made. Another Type C Command vessel also being built in home for army.

Bangladesh Navy has a rigorous training program of its newly recruited officer cadets. New recruits must pass successfully through various phases of the training processes. It includes physical, mental, educational and extensive naval warfare regimes.  Bangladesh Naval Academy is the main training facility for our navy and main parts of the training has been conducted here. It is located in the entrance point of the River Karnaphuli, Chittagong.

Bangladesh participating in the United Nations Peace Support Operations since 1988. Along with the three Armed Forces of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police also actively participating.  There are hundreds of such missions has been successfully completed. Currently almost 6000 soldiers & officers from Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force are deployed in 11 UNPKO in 5 countries.

Border Guard Bangladesh runs a hospital for the force members and their families’ health services. In this specific documentary we will see how they gives their efforts to provide better health services to the respective peoples.

Bangladesh Navy’s patrol frigate BNS Somudra Avijan visited Malaysian & Pilipino ports in a friendly gesture.

Three armed forces of Myanmar participated in a joint war game to synchronize forces interoperability. Third part of it is here.

Myanmar army has 11 Hwasong-6 short-range tactical ballistic missiles in its inventory. They bought these weapons system from North Korea somewhere in 90s. Hwasong-6 is a derivative of the Soviet era Scud Short-Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM). Soviet Union sold those to the N. Korean regime in 80s and Pyongyang made their own variant.  Experts belief that as many as 1,000 Hwasong-6 were manufactured and almost half of them were exported to various countries worldwide. Burmese military junta bought 11 of them. These Hwasong-6 missiles won’t give burma a clean chit security but their military would get a sense of security. These missiles poses no greater threat but civilian casualty is a must concern for neighbors. Because rogue burmese military has been accused, even, for its own peoples killing.  World must take a notice of it and get rid of this menace of peace in the region. Bangladesh Military Academy is the main training institute for the training of the officer cadets. Officers of the Bangladesh Army gets their training from BMA. Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force cadets also have to participate in a three-month course here for Joint Services Course.  It is located at Bhatiary, in southern port city of Bangladesh, Chittagong.

Myanmar Military ‘Sin Phyu Shin’ Joint Exercise – 2018 [Part-2]

Myanmar armed forces conducted joint military drill termed as ‘Sin Phyu Shin’. Here is the first part of it.

Bangladesh Army opens the door for women officers & soldiers in 2000. It was a great decision to empower capable Bangladeshi females who wants to be the part of the country’s defenders.  Currently there are many posts and ranks filled by the Bangladeshi women in the Bangladesh Army. This TVC encouraging many young women of Bangladesh to come to join the armed forces services.

Bangladesh and the United States of America enjoys very warm and friendly relations. Both country follow the rules of democracy and upholding world peace. The military of both country, especially, Bangladesh Army and U.S. Army has strong bilateral relation. Both party exchanges training and conduct military drills. Two of U.S. Army officers Major Shawn Kelley & Major Spencer Philips has recently completed their course in the Defence Services Command & Staff College (DSCSC) of Bangladesh Armed Forces in Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka.

Inter-Services Selection Board or the ISSB is the sole institution in Bangladesh who conduct the selection for the new officer recruits for the three Bangladeshi Armed Forces. This educational documentary shows how they do such complex jobs.

500 units of commercial quadcopters has been ordered for the Bangladesh Army from Turkey. The company named as the Drone Mark will supply these large number of rotor-UAVs. As per the news published in the Arabic language Turk Press, Turk Al’aan and the Arabyoum, some Bangladeshi news outlets also reported too.  These drones will be used to conduct surveillance, reconnaissance, tracking and search & inquiry missions. These are cheap platforms and easy to use. So costs are very much affordable regarding unit prices and training-maintenance aspects.

Bangladesh Navy is the naval arm of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. This force is responsible to safeguards country’s territorial water bodies along with the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the Bay of Bengal.  In this short documentary, the activities of BD Navy has been shown with narration. BN is going to be the second largest in the South Asia and one of the most formidable in Asia in the coming decades. Many developmental and expansion programs are currently being materialized.
