Bangladesh Navy going to assemble land-based anti-ship missile system too. Bangladesh Army has ten examples of U.S. made M113 armored personnel carrier. Those APCs are deployed in the U.N. Peace Keeping Missions.  Although, Bangladesh is the second biggest operator of the Russian BTR-80, some of its APCs are from other countries too. Likely, Turkish Otokar Kobra, U.S. FMC M113, Serbian MTLAB etc. Among them M113 is the legendary one. After the Vietnam War, M113 was deployed in the 95% conflicts worldwide. Bangladesh’s M113s are upgraded with most advanced sub-systems.  The number is very ignorable but it is important when those are deployed in the hot zones in the war affected African states for patrol duties by the Bangladeshi contingents. Its crew safety system is better and faster in terms of movement in the battle zones.

CONFIRMED: Mi-35M Going-To-Be the Dedicated Attack Helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force!

Bangladesh Air Force apparently finalized the candidate for the dedicated attack helicopter program. And, it will be the Russian Helicopters Mi-35M. This helicopter is a combat proven rotary wing platform and can carry 8 troops too. Initially eight examples will be delivered to the BAF. Acquiring Mi-35M helicopters will reduce maintenance burdens of the BD Air Force because there are a fleet of 35 Mi-171Sh which also has some same components as the Mi-35M. Bangladesh will use these helicopters to provide close-air-support to the ground troops.  Mi-35M can carry 8 troops or 4 stretchers on its external sling. Total payload is about 2400kgs. On its external hardpoints Mi-35M can carry various bombs, anti-tank guided missiles, multiple-ejector racks, guided-unguided rockets and submunitions/mines.  This helicopter will surely boost Bangladesh Air Force’s anti-armor warfare capability to a new height. Bangladesh Air Force going to install Selex RAT-31DL AESA radar in august. This long-range air search radar will be installed in the Barishal Air Base. Italian defense contractor Leonardo manufactured Selex RAT-31DL active electronically scanned array radar has an instrumented range of 500km and detection range of 470km. Due to this capabilities Bangladesh can detect any hostile aircrafts beyond its border. Hence Bangladesh Air Force will get more time to respond accordingly.  After installing this radar in Barishal base BD Air Force will establish Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). This ADIZ will be in the southern part of the country, which covers the main portion of the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) in the Bay of Bengal and southern districts of the Chittagong division. By this ADIZ Bangladesh sending a message to myanmar air force not to meddle with Dhaka. If they (burmese) violate Bangladesh’s airspace again they’ll be intercepted by and announced hostile as well.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines bought four Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner passenger jet airplanes from Boeing Inc. Each Dreamliner can carry 271 passengers. Two of the four 787-8s will be added to the Biman’s fleet this year. One in August 20 and another in September. Rest 2 will come in November, 2019.  These aircrafts definitely will boost the capacity of Bangladesh’s national flag carrier Biman’s passenger flights. Biman Dreamliner plane costs roughly $240 million Each.

Why the K-8W jet trainer aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force was crashed? Was it a technical fault or bad weather skirmishes?! 3 Decades of Sacrifice of The Bangladesh Armed Forces In UN Peace Keeping Missions | UN Peacekeepers Day

UN International Day of Peace is dedicated to those peacekeepers who are continuously giving their efforts to ensure peace and stability in the world’s most chaotic regions. Bangladesh Armed Forces serving in the United Nations Peace Keeping Operations for 30+ years. First, in 1988 observer groups of Bangladeshi military personnel was deployed in UNIMOG & UNTAG, respectively in Iraq and Namibia. And then, after these three decades more than 83 thousands personnel served in 54+ UNPKO missions in 40+ countries.  In this “International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers-2018” UN thanked Bangladesh for their contribution in the UN PSOs. Currently more than 6 thousand Bangladeshi soldiers & officers from all branches of the armed forces are serving in the 11 UN Peace Support Operations in five countries.

Earlier DGDP issued an international tender, against which Leonardo was the lead contestant. Because the specifications mentioned in the tender directed that AW-159 helicopter will be the finalist. Bangladesh Navy pursuing a modernization program under the much anticipated Forces Goal-2030. Within 2030 BN has a plan to operate at least 8 new multirole frigates which will be built in the Chittagong Dry Dock Limited.  It now acquiring new and second hand warships, mainly from China as stop gap solutions. Dhaka building other smaller vessels at home shipyards right now. For future high performance frigates of the Bangladesh Navy it is essential to add an advanced, highly effective Aniti-Submarine Warfare capable aerial fleet. Hence BN materializing the plan of raising ASW helicopter fleet step by step.

COMMANDO Units From Bangladesh Armed Forces Participated In The EFES-2018 Military Exercises

Bangladesh Armed Forces participated in the EFES-2018 international military exercise organized by the Turkish Military. This time more than 24 countries attended the live fire massive war game. Most of the Muslim countries and other NATO allies included in the combined exercise. Bangladesh Army Paracommando Battalion and Bangladesh Navy SWADS were the participating units. Bangladesh Air Force drifting from the Russian 4.5th generation fighter jets for its MRCA program. Recently a team of experts from the Bangladesh Aeronautical Complex (BAC) visited the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. They inspected manufacturing processes of the JF-17 Thunder block-3 fighter jets.  Reports suggesting that the BAF will go for the single-engine multirole fighter jets for its next acquisition. United Aircraft Corporation which owns the Su-35 Super Flanker has asked for a very price for the jet. Bangladesh Air Force not buying Mig-35! It is a shocking, though, not surprising as Russia demanded unnatural prices. Firstly Moscow offered Bangladesh their Su-30SME the new variant of the Su-30 family. Then they asked for a price that is usually very high from others they got.  After that BAF opt for Su-35 and again, Russia played its price card and asked BAF to buy their Mig-35 along with it. If Bangladesh don’t buy Mig-35 then Russia said they’ll not sell Su-35 to Dhaka. Under this circumstance, MRCA program stalled. After long negotiation process Bangladesh opt out Russian jets and seeking a single-engine multirole fighter jet from somewhere else.

Prime minister sheikh hasina inaugurated the newly built Bangladesh Naval Academy Complex. Chief of Naval Staff also attended the program along with other dignitaries.  Bangladesh Navy now can be able to host more international cadets in their training academy. Bangladesh Navy setting up a new naval base at Patuakhali. This new base will host surface combatant and submarine berthing as well as a naval aviation facilities. Tow More Submarine KILLER Helicopter For Bangladesh Navy

Bangladesh Navy’s wing in the DGDP has issued a tender for two more ASW-ASuW helicopters from overseas suppliers/manufacturers. According to the operational & technical specifications stated in the tender it is obvious that Italian Leonardo will be the winner of this procurement.  Earlier Bangladesh Navy awarded Leonardo for two AW159 Wildcat ASW copter. BN wants to build a fleet of 12 anti-submarine warfare helicopters to multiply force capabilities.

China Launched 4th Type 056 Stealth Corvette of Bangladesh Navy

Chinese Wuchang Shuangliu Shipyard launched 4th Bangladesh Navy Type 056 stealth corvette last Sunday. The hull number of the ship is F114, which will be outfitted soon. Currently the third one, F113, is being trialed in the open sea. Bangladesh Navy has a plan to operate such 14-16 corvettes. Currently two of them are in active BN services. Rest ships of the fleet will be built in the Khulna Shipyard Limited, Bangladesh.

Two Leonardo AW159 Wildcat ASW helicopters are on order & recently a tender has been surfaced to purchase to more such copters. First manned flight happened in Bangladesh in 1882. The then Nawab of Dhaka Khwaja Ahsan Ullah arranged the occasion. He invited famous American professional balloonist Jeanette Van Tassel and her mother Jenny Rumary Van Tassel to Dhaka.  Jeanette Van Tassel started with her hot air balloon at 6:20 pm in 16 March, 1882. The plan was to fly from the south bank of the river Buriganga to the roof of the Ahsan Manzil, the palace of the Nawab Ahsan Ullah. But due to gusting wind her balloon missed the targeted landing point of Ahsan Manzil’s roof top. She flew away to the gardens of the Shahbag. There her balloon crashed in a bamboo thicket.

Franco-Italian Thales Alenia Space designed & manufactured this geostationary communications satellite for the Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited.  The BS-1 will be located at 119.1° East longitude geostationary slot. The lifespan of the BS-1 is about 15 years. This communication satellite will carry 40 transponders – 26 Ku-band & 14 C-band. JEAN KAY: Man Who Hijacked Plane for Bangladesh

Jean Kay was a French citizen who acted to help Bangladeshi refugees during 1971 Independence War of Bangladesh. He then in 3rd December hijacked the Pakistan International Flight PK-712 and argued the French Government to send medicines & other reliefs goods for Bangladeshis suffering due to the war.  Pompidou administration of the then France agreed and sent those relief support for the peoples of Bangladesh, but arrested Jean Kay. FIRST In South Asia: BIGGEST Underwater Tunneling Machine of Bangladesh

Chinese Tianhe Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing Company Ltd. built an ultra-large underwater tunnel boring machine for Bangladesh. This tunneling machine will be used to bore the Karnaphuli River Tunnel in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Currently it is being assembled in Jiansu, China which will be shipped to the country in next May.  Government of Bangladesh awarded the contract to build the tunnel road to the China Communication Construction Company Ltd. Within the next august main boring activities will start. And completion time for the tunnel has been settled as 2022.
