Military officers of Myanmar has a lower salary scales. Myanmar Army officers starting salary is about 120,000 kyat. Most of the profitable businesses and wealth are in the hands of the generals. Due to long-term junta rule in Burma military officers established unabated control over country’s natural resources, businesses and other facilities.  But such phenomena normal for the generals. Mid-level and junior officers do odd things, like drug smuggling, capture of civilian businesses and so many. And this is a normal trend in Burma. While neighboring countries has implemented more modern structure within their militaries. And created the world class professionalism.

Bangladesh Navy going to assemble land-based anti-ship missile system too. It will be first such project in the country.  Bangladesh Army also expressed strong interest to acquire the weapons system to bolster the deterrence of Bangladesh’s maritime security. BD Navy will build 6 heavy frigates which will accommodate dozens of Anti-Ship Missiles. And other smaller vessels in Navy like corvettes, LPCs are also equipped with AShMs. So, in the near future Bangladesh will deploy a significant number of such missile weapons systems. Accordingly, Bangladesh Navy decided to reduce foreign dependence for the weapon.  Assembling missiles in Bangladesh will help country’s economy, create more jobs and establish a base for the high-tech military industries.

Bangabandhu-1 satellite of Bangladesh is purely a commercial communication satellite manufactured by the Thales-Alenia Space. It was launched into the orbit by a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket. But some ruling party leaders-workers and online observers in Bangladesh says that it can be used for the military purposes. Bangladesh Navy officials inspected Leonardo AW101 helicopter for SWADS operations. AW101 is one of the most efficient and widely used helicopter. There are dozens of variants but Bangladesh Navy will order the latest version. Initially order will be placed for two, and then additional two. This chopper can be armed for the ASW missions too.

Bangladesh Army has ten examples of U.S. made M113 armored personnel carrier. Those APCs are deployed in the U.N. Peace Keeping Missions.  Although, Bangladesh is the second biggest operator of the Russian BTR-80, some of its APCs are from other countries too. Likely, Turkish Otokar Kobra, U.S. FMC M113, Serbian MTLAB etc. Among them M113 is the legendary one. After the Vietnam War, M113 was deployed in the 95% conflicts worldwide. Bangladesh’s M113s are upgraded with most advanced sub-systems.  The number is very ignorable but it is important when those are deployed in the hot zones in the war affected African states for patrol duties by the Bangladeshi contingents. Its crew safety system is better and faster in terms of movement in the battle zones.

Bangladesh Air Force apparently finalized the candidate for the dedicated attack helicopter program. And, it will be the Russian Helicopters Mi-35M. This helicopter is a combat proven rotary wing platform and can carry 8 troops too. Initially eight examples will be delivered to the BAF. Acquiring Mi-35M helicopters will reduce maintenance burdens of the BD Air Force because there are a fleet of 35 Mi-171Sh which also has some same components as the Mi-35M. Bangladesh will use these helicopters to provide close-air-support to the ground troops.  Mi-35M can carry 8 troops or 4 stretchers on its external sling. Total payload is about 2400kgs. On its external hardpoints Mi-35M can carry various bombs, anti-tank guided missiles, multiple-ejector racks, guided-unguided rockets and submunitions/mines.  This helicopter will surely boost Bangladesh Air Force’s anti-armor warfare capability to a new height. Bangladesh Armed Forces buys their equipment from dozens of countries. Among them China is the largest, and Russia is in the second position. Some other major suppliers of Bangladesh Military equipment are from Europe and North America. Just after the independence, Bangladesh sought help from friendly countries to equip her military. Among them, most Muslim countries gifted many defense hardware.  Until 1976 when President Ziaur Rahman came to power, China wasn’t Bangladesh’s ally as it was aligned with Pakistan. After that period China became major weapons supplier for the Bangladesh Armed Forces.  On the other hand Russia also remain a key military equipment supplier to Dhaka. Bangladesh Navy going to build 6 new frigates at the Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd. Chinese Type 057 guided missile frigate design has been finalized. Although, it will be Chinese ship but it would have sub-systems from Italy. Armaments also include non-Chinese sources like Russia or Italy. Six ships will be built for the Bangladesh Navy in the next decade. DGFI, the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence of Bangladesh Armed Forces, is the prime counter-intelligence agency of the country. Established in 1972 & reformed in 1976 by the then President Major General Ziaur Rahman.  This agency has 12,000+ manpower mainly from the three armed forces of the country. Operating in 45 countries around the globe. DGFI has the primary tasks to collect intelligence related to the national security issues of Bangladesh. DGFI has been founded as the Directorate of Forces Intelligence (DFI) in 1972 in response to the hostile attitude of the neighboring armed forces. Bangladesh Navy started the anti-ship missile assembling program. Recently the Directorate General Defence Purchase of Bangladesh Armed Forces issued a tender for the support facilities for the weapons systems plant. Initially C-704 & C-802A Anti-Ship Missiles of Chinese origin will be assembled here. After the successful launch BD Navy will go for the production of the, short-range naval surface-to-air missile systems, FL-3000N. Bangladesh Air Force chief flew fighter jets after assuming the office. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihujjaman Serniabat has flown FT-7BG & F-7BGI fighter jets to assure the nation that our sky is safe! He recently been appointed as the CAS replaced Air Marshal Abu Esrar. He joined Bangladesh Air Force Academy on 16 March 1980 and graduated from BAF Academy in June 1982. He was commissioned in Bangladesh Air Force on 19 June 1982 in General Duties (Pilot) Branch.  The Air Officer is a qualified flying instructor and an accomplished Fighter Pilot and an active flyer. He flew various types of aircrafts. He had the unique opportunity of commanding three Fighter Squadrons of Bangladesh Air Force and he had been the pioneer Squadron Commander of the coveted Mig-29 Fighter Squadron.

Bangabandhu-2 satellite is now on the priority list of Bangladesh. French government wants to finance it under a G2G agreement. And, Thales Alenia Space Company expressed interest to build it. The first, Bangabandhu-1, satellite was built by the group.  Bangladesh needs 4/5 communication satellite to fill up the domestic necessity as the telecommunication sector expanding. Countries in the south Asian region getting more and more economic and financial activities. Needs for perfect and flawless communication is a must needed component for the international trade. Bangladesh has a large young population which can be funneled to production sectors.  Better communication brings faster business. These satellites can be used to provide maritime VSAT services to the merchant ships those are touching the ports of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Air Force actively planning to implement Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in its southern parts, including Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). To ensure ultimate national security Bangladesh feeling the needs of such defensive measures.

Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner planes of Biman Bangladesh Airlines costs around $240 million each. This jet aircraft can carry total 271 passengers. Biman installed a seat plan of C24Y247. That’s mean there are 24 “Business Class” seats and 247 “Economy Class” seats.  Initial flights will cover the Kuala Lumpur 7 Singapore routes. In future it’ll maybe operate in the London-New York and Middle Eastern routes too.

Bangladesh Air Force going to install Selex RAT-31DL AESA radar in august. This long-range air search radar will be installed in the Barishal Air Base. Italian defense contractor Leonardo manufactured Selex RAT-31DL active electronically scanned array radar has an instrumented range of 500km and detection range of 470km. Due to this capabilities Bangladesh can detect any hostile aircrafts beyond its border. Hence Bangladesh Air Force will get more time to respond accordingly.  After installing this radar in Barishal base BD Air Force will establish Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). This ADIZ will be in the southern part of the country, which covers the main portion of the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) in the Bay of Bengal and southern districts of the Chittagong division. By this ADIZ Bangladesh sending a message to myanmar air force not to meddle with Dhaka. If they (burmese) violate Bangladesh’s airspace again they’ll be intercepted by and announced hostile as well. 

Biman Bangladesh Airlines bought four Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner passenger jet airplanes from Boeing Inc. Each Dreamliner can carry 271 passengers. Two of the four 787-8s will be added to the Biman’s fleet this year. One in August 20 and another in September. Rest 2 will come in November, 2019.  These aircrafts definitely will boost the capacity of Bangladesh’s national flag carrier Biman’s passenger flights. Biman Dreamliner plane costs roughly $240 million Each.

An extremest hindu leader of Vissho Hindu Parishad (VHP) invites indian army to invade Bangladesh. He suggests to capture Bangladeshi lands to resettle Assamese Muslims there. This extremest VHP leader was in Gowhati, capital cityy of Assam, last week. Although, Assamese police banned his public meeting for a two-onth timeline, the extremest hindu religous organization VHP arranged the meeting ignoring Indian state order.  Political observers seeing this as a ignition of another hindu-Muslim clash in the north-eastern indian satte Assam. Indian news outlet Hindustan Times reported the news. Central government of india must take measures to stop such terrorist minded hindu leaders from igniting any religous clash between hindu and Muslims, as it can seriously harm the stability of the region. But pathetically current modi government sponsoring these fanatics!

391 articulted bus going to be launched for the dhakaites. To solve the mass transport problems of the population of the Dhaka city there will be no other way but renovation of transport systems. Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) planned to launch large number of articulated buses.  Government wants finances from the Asian Development Bak, World Bank and the France Development Organizations for this project. DTCA already sent the proposal to the Planning Minsitry for approval. Hope this urgently needed development work will be done within 2020.

Pakistan producing 4th generation JF-17 Thunder fighter jets since 2009 at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC). It was jointly develop with China for the Pakistan Air Force. Meanwhile india struggling with its indigenous HAL Tejas fighter jet, which is being for more than 30 years. In this capacity Islamabad much ahead of Delhi.

Bangladesh and India share a 4,156 km-long international border. A brief border war was held between Bangladesh's the then BDR and indian BSF in the Boraibari area of the Kurigram district in the north western Bangladesh. Bangladesh Army bought 44 Main Battle Tank – 2000 or the MBT-2000 tanks from China in 2011. This battle tank was developed jointly by China & Pakistan Army. It is also known the “Al-Khalid Tank”, named after the 7th century Muslim general Khalid-Ibn al-Walid.  MBT-2000 has a great fire power in contrast with its reduced weight. It can be deployed for nigh fight as it is fitted with the thermal imaging systems. A 125mm smoothbore gun is the main armament of the tank, while a 12.7mm heavy machine gun & a 7.62mm remote operated machine gun are available.

Bangabandhu-1 satellite will bring many benefits to Bangladesh. It will save money and create more jobs in the communication sector of the country. But it needs a very skilled & expert team to manage the project for next 15 years. Here is my opinions are explained how the opportunity could be beneficial.

Why the K-8W jet trainer aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force was crashed? Was it a technical fault or bad weather skirmishes?! Still the answers are unknown, though the BAF investigation team trying to find out the reasons behind such an accident.  Bangladesh lost two skilled pilots and millions of dollars in form of the aircraft. Locals and official reports said there was a stormy & rainy weather when the K-8W Karakorum of BAF crashed. Technical fault of the jet can’t be ruled out so soon. But we must wait until the official statement comes out about the causes of the crash.

Bangladesh Army and other armed force branches along with the paramilitary forces commissioned highly trained war dogs. Most of the trained dogs being used in the customs, police and RAB forces. But simultaneously, Bangladesh Army raised a squad of the war dogs trained in the country by the local instructors.  These dogs are intelligent, skilled and loyal to their masters in the battle field. BD Army has a detailed regime to train them with the most advanced tactics. Mostly these dog squads are composed of the German Shepherds, trained in the Special Forces training centers.

Bangladesh Army first participated in the International Army games – 2017 in Kazakhstan. In this event BD Army sent a team of 13 contestant and with support personnel. Bangladeshi team took part in the Sniper Frontier Contest only. Kazakhstan secured the first position. Russia-China jointly won the second position. Bangladesh got seventh position well ahead of Indian and Thai army sniper teams which secured positions respectively 11th and 14th. International Army Games is reputed military war game in which best of the best comes to contest in their favorite events. Bangladesh Army bought a large amount Saab Group’s Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless gun system from Sweden. This is a combat proven weapons system being fielded by the dozens of armies across the globe. Upgraded M4 gun can fire a really wide range of rounds from anti-tank to anti-bunker shells. This is very light and easy to use portable system which will surely increase Bangladesh Army’s field fire power, especially, in the frontier regions.  Saab AB shows Bangladesh is the newer user of this latest weapons system in their infographic. UN International Day of Peace is dedicated to those peacekeepers who are continuously giving their efforts to ensure peace and stability in the world’s most chaotic regions. Bangladesh Armed Forces serving in the United Nations Peace Keeping Operations for 30+ years. First, in 1988 observer groups of Bangladeshi military personnel was deployed in UNIMOG & UNTAG, respectively in Iraq and Namibia. And then, after these three decades more than 83 thousands personnel served in 54+ UNPKO missions in 40+ countries.  In this “International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers-2018” UN thanked Bangladesh for their contribution in the UN PSOs. Currently more than 6 thousand Bangladeshi soldiers & officers from all branches of the armed forces are serving in the 11 UN Peace Support Operations in five countries.

Bangladesh Navy ordered two more Leonardo AW-159 Wildcat anti-submarine warfare helicopters. Previously another two aircraft has been ordered, slated to be delivered later in 2019. Earlier DGDP issued an international tender, against which Leonardo was the lead contestant. Because the specifications mentioned in the tender directed that AW-159 helicopter will be the finalist. Bangladesh Navy pursuing a modernization program under the much anticipated Forces Goal-2030. Within 2030 BN has a plan to operate at least 8 new multirole frigates which will be built in the Chittagong Dry Dock Limited.  It now acquiring new and second hand warships, mainly from China as stop gap solutions. Dhaka building other smaller vessels at home shipyards right now. For future high performance frigates of the Bangladesh Navy it is essential to add an advanced, highly effective Aniti-Submarine Warfare capable aerial fleet. Hence BN materializing the plan of raising ASW helicopter fleet step by step.

Bangladesh and myanmar facing continues tension between them. Recently Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) installed CCTV camera & solar-powered lights on the Tombru-Konabari border in the Bandarban district.  Burmese border guard police urged Bangladesh to remove those instruments from the Bangladeshi part of the border. This arrogance of myanmar created anger among the diplomatic arena of Dhaka.

Bangladesh and india has several disputes over the areas near border. Those unsolved border issues sometimes led the forces of two countries into clashes. Border Guard Bangladesh and border security force of india had engaged in various disputes over the issues in past. It was a victory for Bangladeshis. Indian Border Security Force (BSF) illegally occupied and made a camp in a piece of 230 acres of land in the Pirdyah village in Sylhet district. Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) which is now Border Guard Bangladesh, asked indian BSF to leave the area. But BSF did not leave and chose to fight. BDR then decided to fight BSF.  After a short clash BSF was been defeated and the 10 kilometer road BSF built inside Bangladeshi territory was forced to break again by the jawans of the indian border security force.

Bangladesh Armed Forces participated in the EFES-2018 international military exercise organized by the Turkish Military. This time more than 24 countries attended the live fire massive war game. Most of the Muslim countries and other NATO allies included in the combined exercise. Bangladesh Army Paracommando Battalion and Bangladesh Navy SWADS were the participating units. Turkish Navy SAS-SAT helped to form and train Bangladesh Navy special force SWADS. There are very long-history between these two brotherly nation from the Ottoman era.  Turkey recently unequivocally supported Dhaka’s stance on Rohingya issues. Ankara provided financial and other support to Bangladesh to handle huge influx of Rohingya peoples fled from myanmar military’s genocide. Bangladesh Navy currently operating two modified Chinese Ming-class attack submarines. Bangladesh bought those submarines off-the-shelf from People’s Liberation Army Navy’s active fleet. China modernized those boats with possible most advanced sensors and armaments. These two Ming-class submarines are armed with Yu-4 heavy torpedo and naval mines. BNS Nabajatra and BNS Joyjatra are currently deployed to deter any enemy surface fleet, invading country’s territorial water bodies.

Bangladesh Air Force drifting from the Russian 4.5th generation fighter jets for its MRCA program. Recently a team of experts from the Bangladesh Aeronautical Complex (BAC) visited the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. They inspected manufacturing processes of the JF-17 Thunder block-3 fighter jets.  Reports suggesting that the BAF will go for the single-engine multirole fighter jets for its next acquisition. United Aircraft Corporation which owns the Su-35 Super Flanker has asked for a very price for the jet. And Moscow also conditioned Bangladesh to buy their newer Mig-35 medium fighter jets along with it.  Russia did not give any stingy condition to Indonesian or Chinese party to buy their Su-35s, but it played nasty games with the Bangladesh Air Force. It is high time for BAF to acquire some most advanced fighter jet to keep country’s sky safe. Bangladesh Naval Academy is the main training facilities for the newly recruited naval officers & enlistments. This is a world-class naval warfare training. A new building complex has been established in the academy premises, which has been inaugurated by the Prime Minister sheikh hasina herself.  This most advanced military training facility will host foreign naval trainee officers apart from Bangladeshi cadets. Almost all types facilities included within this complex such modern indoor games facilities, gymnasium, dine, dormitory, library, auditorium etc.  As Bangladesh Navy expanding its manpower it needs to cope up with the most modern naval warfare training regime for the recruits. Likewise advanced training facility is also a must needed factor. Government of Bangladesh investing not only advanced warships but also modernizing training facilities too.

Bangladesh Air Force not buying Mig-35! It is a shocking, though, not surprising as Russia demanded unnatural prices. Firstly Moscow offered Bangladesh their Su-30SME the new variant of the Su-30 family. Then they asked for a price that is usually very high from others they got.  After that BAF opt for Su-35 and again, Russia played its price card and asked BAF to buy their Mig-35 along with it. If Bangladesh don’t buy Mig-35 then Russia said they’ll not sell Su-35 to Dhaka. Under this circumstance, MRCA program stalled. After long negotiation process Bangladesh opt out Russian jets and seeking a single-engine multirole fighter jet from somewhere else.

In May 11, Bangladesh and india signed an defense agreement. Under this agreement india will finance Bangladesh’s military purchases. Bilateral military training exchange is also a part of this deal. Although, majority of the Bangladeshis are not happy and furious about this agreement Sheikh hasina government which is not elected forcefully done this.  Navies of both countries are also signed an MoU under which indian GRSE and Bangladesh Navy’s Khulna Shipyard will work together but in which project no clue. Many expert saying that this agreement going to bind Bangladesh for indian approval to buy anything for her armed forces. Patriotic Bangladeshis seeing this agreement as a treachery of the current government.  Everyone knows Bangladesh is the 3rd biggest remittance source of india. This complex is one of the most beautiful building in the country. It is located in Patenga, Chittagong.

Bangladesh military operating various point and short range air defense missile systems. Those systems includes several hundred units of anti-aircraft gun systems, man portable air defense systems and short range surface-to-air missiles. Bangladesh Air Force & Army operating Chinese FM-90B SHORADS while Bangladesh Navy deployed FM-90N naval version.  Within this year BAF will complete induction of the Chinese LY-80E medium-range SAM system into active services. After that other armed services will do same. Due to the tensed geopolitical Bangladesh needs to secured its sky from any external threat. Hence network-centric advanced air defense systems are the most effective solution.

Ramu Cantonment of Bangladesh Army is located in the southern part of Bangladesh at Ukhia, Cox’s Bazaar. This is a new military station which hosts the newly formed 10th Infantry Division. Ramu Cant. is a strategically important base. Currently necessary infrastructure are being built to host various units & brigades.  New recruitments also in place to fulfill the expansion process. Ramu Cant being set up under the Forces Goal – 2030 modernization & expansion program of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. It’ll provide ultimate security to countless of very important civil-military installations and areas in the Chittagong region.

Bangladesh Army evaluating to buy advanced heavy main battle tank and light tanks. Currently there are several options for light tanks, which weighs under 35 tons. Chinese VT-5 is one of the progressive contestant.  On the other hand Russian T-90MS, Chinese VT-4 or MBT-3000 and Ukrainian Oplot-M MBTs are the options for the heavy MBTs.

Bangladesh Navy setting up a new naval base at Patuakhali. This new base will host surface combatant and submarine berthing as well as a naval aviation facilities. Location of the base is in the Rabnabad channel. This naval base will be the biggest of its kind in the country. The Navy’s own air base will surely bolster operational capabilities of the navy. The name of the base has been settled ‘BNS Sher-E-Bangla’. Currently construction process going on in full speed.

Bangladesh Navy’s wing in the DGDP has issued a tender for two more ASW-ASuW helicopters from overseas suppliers/manufacturers. According to the operational & technical specifications stated in the tender it is obvious that Italian Leonardo will be the winner of this procurement.  Earlier Bangladesh Navy awarded Leonardo for two AW159 Wildcat ASW copter. BN wants to build a fleet of 12 anti-submarine warfare helicopters to multiply force capabilities.

Chinese Wuchang Shuangliu Shipyard launched 4th Bangladesh Navy Type 056 stealth corvette last Sunday. The hull number of the ship is F114, which will be outfitted soon. Currently the third one, F113, is being trialed in the open sea. Bangladesh Navy has a plan to operate such 14-16 corvettes. Currently two of them are in active BN services. Rest ships of the fleet will be built in the Khulna Shipyard Limited, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Navy currently operating two Leonardo AW109E Power utility helicopters and two RUAG Dornier Do-228NG maritime patrol aircrafts. Two Leonardo AW159 Wildcat ASW helicopters are on order & recently a tender has been surfaced to purchase to more such copters. On the other hand BN wants to expand its MPA aircrafts fleet to gain real force multiplier capabilities. On the line of this effort BD Navy ordered two more Do-228NG MPAs which will be fitted with the Leonardo SeaSpray AESA radars from Italy on those 2 new Dorniers.

Bangabandhu Satellite was planned by the Government of Bangladesh to reduce dependency on foreign satellite leasing. Thales Alenia Space designed & manufactured this communications satellite. This satellite will save around $14 million yearly. BS-1 will be operated by the Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited.

First manned flight happened in Bangladesh in 1882. The then Nawab of Dhaka Khwaja Ahsan Ullah arranged the occasion. He invited famous American professional balloonist Jeanette Van Tassel and her mother Jenny Rumary Van Tassel to Dhaka.  Jeanette Van Tassel started with her hot air balloon at 6:20 pm in 16 March, 1882. The plan was to fly from the south bank of the river Buriganga to the roof of the Ahsan Manzil, the palace of the Nawab Ahsan Ullah. But due to gusting wind her balloon missed the targeted landing point of Ahsan Manzil’s roof top. She flew away to the gardens of the Shahbag. There her balloon crashed in a bamboo thicket.

Bangabandhu Satellite – 1 is the first of its kind in Bangladesh. Franco-Italian Thales Alenia Space designed & manufactured this geostationary communications satellite for the Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited.  The BS-1 will be located at 119.1° East longitude geostationary slot. The lifespan of the BS-1 is about 15 years. This communication satellite will carry 40 transponders – 26 Ku-band & 14 C-band. Among those 40 transponders Bangladesh will use 20 and rest 20 will be leased to other parties for revenue.  In the first week of this April the Bangabandhu Satellite – 1 will be launched from the United States’ Cape Canaveral Space Launching Facilities. One SpaceX Falcon-9 Block-5 SLV will carry the BS-1 to the slotted orbit.  Two Ground Control Station has been established, one in Gazipur and another backup GCS in Rangamati district. Currently Bangladesh spend $14 million to lease foreign satellites to meet the needs. This amount of money will

Jean Kay was a French citizen who acted to help Bangladeshi refugees during 1971 Independence War of Bangladesh. He then in 3rd December hijacked the Pakistan International Flight PK-712 and argued the French Government to send medicines & other reliefs goods for Bangladeshis suffering due to the war.  Pompidou administration of the then France agreed and sent those relief support for the peoples of Bangladesh, but arrested Jean Kay. After a long trial process this hero was been released of all charges on humanitarian ground in 1973. Here is the brief story of that event.

Bangabandhu Complex is a key building in the vicinity of the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA), which featured a geodesic dome.

Government of Bangladesh initiated the construction of the Dhaka Bus Rapid Transport to reduce the heavy traffic jam situation in the city. Italian & Thai joint venture ItalThai Group has been awarded the construction contract.  Initial phase of the project has been started. This BRT Line -3 phase consists building of the Elevated Expressway from Gazipur to the Airport Road in Uttara.

Bangladesh Air Force operating Pakistan made Air Defense Systems automation. This C4I Command & Control System has been developed and produced by the Air Weapons Complex (AWC), a subsidiary of the NESCOM, Pakistan.  This automated computer system has integration with all of the air defense assets of Bangladesh Air Force. Likewise all fighter aircrafts, interceptor aircrafts, surveillance & reconnaissance assets, radar stations & surface-to-air missiles systems are integrated within this system.  Until now it is been found that the whole system operates smoothly without any flaws. BAF is satisfied with this system and thanked for.

Chinese Tianhe Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing Company Ltd. built an ultra-large underwater tunnel boring machine for Bangladesh. This tunneling machine will be used to bore the Karnaphuli River Tunnel in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Currently it is being assembled in Jiansu, China which will be shipped to the country in next May.  Government of Bangladesh awarded the contract to build the tunnel road to the China Communication Construction Company Ltd. Within the next august main boring activities will start. And completion time for the tunnel has been settled as 2022.

It’s been reported that Bangladesh Navy very much interested in decommissioned Japanese & Australian P-3C Orion Maritime Patrol Aircrafts. Both party seeking international buyers for their P-3Cs platforms which are still capable to serve small and medium navies.  Lockheed P-3C Orion is one of the world’s most capable, long serving MPA platform. It has capabilities of anti-submarine (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASUW). Japan Maritime Sel-Defense Force (JMSDF) & Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) both are the oldest operator of P-3C.

Bangladesh Army’s the East Bengal Regiment Center or EBRC is a soldiers training center. This is the oldest regiment in BD Army.  Here soldiers gets advanced training for modern day land warfare, un-armed combat, character building etc.

Bangladesh Air Force has started Winter Exercise – 2018 or WINTEX-2018 involving all of the air bases and related assets. This exercise is an annual event. Bangladesh Army, Navy and some other paramilitary forces also taking part in the drill to synchronize interoperability.
